Australia is the smallest continent and one of the largest countries on Earth. Australia is truly unique — it is the only country in the world that covers an entire continent and it is also the largest island in the world. The geography of Australia ranges from deserts, mountainous, tropical islands, rain forests, lakes, and rivers. New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It consists of two main landmasses—the North Island and the South Island.
