At the beginning of last century, when Santorini was a very poor and extremely difficult place to live, the cherry tomato and the wine were mainly supporting the local economy. Today, Santorini is a top worldwide destination, but at the same time an emerging oenogastronomic destination. Any of the agricultural products growing on the island has a low yield, thus concentrated flavors and aromas. Once you tasted the cherry tomato grown here, you will never forget its taste. We bet! This is thanks to the anhydrous (waterless) and volcanic land and the sea breeze adding salinity.
